Description
This is a "speedie" I did yesterday. I just felt like painting instead of sketching so I started this after seeing the reference. It's kind of a study that went on on it's own.approximately 4 hours, using OpenCanvas, Photoshop and my Wacom Intuos3 A5 tablet.
Please crit me on this, I'd like to take it further after letting it rest for a few days. It would be cool to hear some of your advice.
Love
Marleen

I am still working a lot on my own portrait painting, so take what I say with a grain of salt:
The cheeks look flat (on the light side) and even curved inwards (on the dark side) while they should be curved outwards. I think the impression comes from the lower part where the cheek meets the mouth area. The darkest point there should be inside the "mouth area" (the line from the nose to the side of the mouth) instead of the end of the cheek. If you change the shading there (on both sides) you will significantly improve the already very good painting.
The lower lip and especially the nose could also cast shadows at this angle of light.
The mouth is slightly off center and tilted to the right. The shadows on the light side seem a bit too dark (especially around the eye).
Very nice painting overall!
